Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Henderson Municipal Court’s Veterans Treatment Court program to enhance public safety and to hold veterans accountable for their conduct while providing an avenue for rehabilitation through a comprehensive treatment approach that addresses issues related to their military service experiences that contributed to their commission of a crime.

Key Components

• Non adversarial (focus on recovering and becoming a productive law abiding citizen)
• Veterans Administration Treatment coordinators
• Continuum of alcohol, drug and mental health treatment (PTSD and TBI)
• Alcohol and drug testing
• Veterans Mentors
• Frequent Status Check
• Veterans Treatment Court staff are primarily veterans to include the Public Defenders and the VA Justice Outreach Coordinator as well as volunteer mentors
